Every year, thousands of participants take part in the Wachauer Radtage. They have very good reasons for this.
#1 The UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau and the Waldviertel
On the track of the 159 km Krone Champion Cycling Marathon, a special highlight awaits the participants: the mountain classification on the Wachau local mountain - the Jauerling. For enthusiastic cyclists and marathon beginners there are two more courses: The Raiffeisen Power Cycling Marathon with a 92 km course leads through the Wachau World Heritage Site, which has been awarded "The Best Historic Destination in the World" by UNESCO. The participants of the Wachauer Genuss bike tour over 50 km can also enjoy the uniqueness of the scenic scenery particularly well. One of the highlights of the 50 km long course is the unforgettable mass starter experience and the first common kilometres in the huge starter field!
#2 Three different challenges
The Wachauer Radtage, one of the largest and best-known cycling mass sports events in Austria, is a cult and obligatory program for all cycling enthusiasts. Three challenging and varied routes through the Wachau World Cultural Heritage Site and the Waldviertel will offer every participant - from trained hobby cyclists to marathon beginners - just the right thing. The program around the cycling marathon offers not only entertainment for the participants, but also for the whole family. In addition to the three challenging tracks, there is also a children's cycling race.
#3 The improved track
The Krone Champions cycling marathon as well as the Raiffeisen Power cycling marathon were equipped with a mostly new track for the anniversary event. This includes - loyal participants will certainly remember - the most beautiful and diverse sections of the last 20 years. In addition to the most demanding Wachau mountains - Jauerling, Seiberer and Maria Langegg - the track of the Krone Champions cycling marathon leads through the Wachau World Heritage Site and through wonderful, traffic-calmed sections in the Waldviertel. Moreover, the "mountain king" of the Jauerling is honoured.
#4 The own fitness
Thousands of cycling fans start the season with total motivation. Many studies show that this kind of movement is perfectly made for hobby athletes! Especially the many training kilometres in preparation for a cycling event bring the positive effects for your own health! If you start now, there is nothing standing in the way of a start at the Wachauer Radtage with the power of your own "engine"!
