Information for participants

The idea and fascination of one of the most legendary cycling marathons has remained. On 17 and 18 July 2021, the 22nd Wachauer Radtage with 2,000 participants will take place in Mautern an der Donau. Once again this year, three challenging and diverse trails (50 km, 92 km, 159 km) through the World Cultural Heritage Site Wachau and the Waldviertel offer every participant - from the trained hobby cyclist to the marathon beginner - exactly the right thing. A special highlight is the unforgettable mass launch experience and the first common kilometres in one of Austria's largest peloton.

At Römerhalle Mautern the biker village opens on Saturday, 17th July from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, 18th July from 07:00 a.m. Here you can do your late registration or get your participation information and your start number. Moreover, in the biker village we offer traditional food, a lottery and some nice DJ tunes. We are sure, you will enjoy your time in the biker village nearby the Danube beach. The competitions over 50 km, 92 km and 159 km will start on Sunday, 18 July 2021 at 09:00!

COVID-19 Information

As organisers, we are pleased that the Wachau Cycling Days can be held in the usual way on 18 July 2021. We are taking on a pioneering role and are one of the first cycling marathons in Austria to be able to get back into full swing after the COVID 19-caused break last year.

According to recent announcements by the federal government, participation in the event only requires the 3-G rule. The collection of contact details for contact tracing purposes is already done as part of the online registration process. Of course, a comprehensive COVID-19 prevention concept will be developed and carefully implemented on site by a COVID-19 officer. A strong sense of responsibility towards our participants and partners remains our top priority.

Distribution of start/racing numbers and timing chips

In order to save your time, we use the single-use timing chips from RaceTimePro GmbH. This single-use timing chip is a seat post sticker, which you find in your starter package. That means, this year you do not need to separately pick up your timing chip and you do not need to pay deposit for your timing chip.

All entrants get their start numbers, helmet stickers and timing chips in the biker village. The start number has to be fixed with safety pins (in your start packages included) easily visible on your back. On the back of your start number you can write down your personal data for your own safety.

Award ceremony and lottery

The award ceremony and the lottery will take place after the competition in the biker village. Prizes and trophies only can be given to present winners.

Present for all participants

To thank you for registering, all participants receive a present! This year, all participants of the Wachauer Radtage will receive stylish arm and leg wear as a gift!
